I was happy to have the Homework Club and Summer Camp. They helped me get the top exam results in SMHS so far. I want to be a Doctor so I've enrolled on a Pre-Medicine course. I'm very grateful to SMHS.

I joined the Nursery class and have been studying in the Swiss Model High School since 2012. My father is a tailor and my mother works as a maid.
I love my school as it has given me many opportunities to grow and develop myself. I like to participate in all the extracurricular activities, such as the debates and sports day.
Thank you, this is all because of you.”

As part of the curriculum, younger children learn about colors, shapes and numbers by celebrating special days. This class celebrated orange day. The students were asked to wear something orange, they did crafts based on the color orange, and, of course, they had a snack with a natural orange color!
The children who attend the SMHS rarely have an opportunity to go outside their neighborhood. The yearly school trips are a highlight for them. The first grade class typically goes to the zoo – and they have a great time!
After a long heat-wave, students came back to school at the beginning of September. They were welcomed with nutritious, and quite delicious, meals twice per day, every day of the week.
SEPP_Save-the-Date_A5_GzD For the fourth consecutive year, we will be holding our annual Giving Tuesday bazaar at CO13 in Basel. We invite artisans from Basel to show their goods, with a portion of the proceeds going to SEPP. We even have our own stand where we sell handmade, block-printed scarves. We look forward to welcoming you again this year on […]
We found a solution to offer girls the possibility to remain at the SMHS past compulsory school and through to the end of high school. We received a generous donation from an estate, and our landlord allowed us to build additional classrooms on top of the school (under the guidance […]
Over the years the school has added 2 new water dispensers and an electric water cooler. These provide cold clean drinking water to all the staff and students in this scorching heat. This clean water is a blessing as in the average household of our community, clean drinking water is not available. At times when the water level of the […]
A Kindergarten class is learning all about colours & today’s colour is yellow. Active participation in learning improves information retention and more importantly, makes learning fun. Despite limited resources, our teachers excel at finding simple creative methods to engage the little ones.
It was the first time that SMHS saw an event of such magnitude. It was well planned and well organised. A lot of effort and attention minute details was paid in order to make it colourful, festive celebration. The ground was beautifully decorated with balloons and buntings as well as food and game stalls. But the centre of attraction were […]
A teacher training on “Challenging Behavior” was organised on 23rd August 2025. The teachers chose this theme due to the challenges faced with a few students and their very difficult family backgrounds. We constantly look for ways to integrate all students. As a charity-school, for many children it is the only opportunity to receive an education – and for many […]
