Shazina

I was happy to have the Homework Club and Summer Camp. They helped me get the top exam results in SMHS so far. I want to be a Doctor so I've enrolled on a Pre-Medicine course.  I'm very grateful to SMHS.

Empowering Girls

“There are two powers in the world; one is the sword and the other is the pen. There is a great rivalry and competition between the two. There is a third power, stronger than the two; that of the women”

“My name is Noor Saleem.

I joined the Nursery class and have been studying in the Swiss Model High School since 2012. My father is a tailor and my mother works as a maid.

I love my school as it has given me many opportunities to grow and develop myself. I like to participate in all the extracurricular activities, such as the debates and sports day.

Thank you, this is all because of you.”

More than just a school

"The teachers at SMHS are like my parents. They understand the challenges we face so teach,
help and guide us with a lot of love and patience. The school's many extracurricular activities
help develop our confidence and the school trips provide us with an opportunity to enjoy and
learn at the same time. "

We are on a mission to provide the best  possible facilities and amenities for the children.  Investing in the school infrastructure ensures a solid environment within which children can thrive.

Water – Made clean and safe to drink

To prevent cross contamination from an open sewage drain and overcome the shortage of water, a water bore was drilled on the premises for general use.

Because the tap water is not safe to drink, water dispensers provide clean drinking water. The cooled drinking water is especially appreciated during the hot summer moths. Now the staff and children have ample water.

The upkeep of the building to serve basic needs, is an ongoing expense.

Safety is Paramount

Due to events in 2014, the Government has created policy for all schools to have a protected perimeter and a sentry guard. These have now been implemented, whereby the contract with the security firm is an additional recurring cost that must be covered.

Computer Lab

This may be the first and only exposure the children have to technology.

Introducing computer skills opens up a whole new world for the children to discover and explore. The hope is that, the computer skills learned will increase their chances for finding gainful employment in the future.

It consists of 9 computers with UPS facility to provide back up in case of electricity load shedding. The lab was possible due to generous donations by companies in Pakistan such as Pepsi Cola International, Comprehensive Behaviour Inc. USA and Lexington Health DLLC. USA

Maintaining and supporting the Lab and equipment requires additional funding.

Initiation of a Mini – library:

To encourage our children to read more we established a mini school library in 2017. It is humble beginnings but slowly but surely, we intend to expand it. We have received donations in the form of books and we are seeking more donors.  The library will not only stock much needed course books, but also novels and comics for the children to read at home.

Ms. Silvia is in charge of the Library for this academic year.
